So what your saying is that less than 2 years ago and a little less than 500 posts ago you knew so little about Jeeps that you didn't know what t case you had, but now your an expert and wanna talk $%#% to someone who has 10+ years of experience who was trying to help someone understand he was checking his tranny fluid wrong and at risk of frying the tranny because of it. I am not a know it all, far from it, I am actually going to UTI now to learn all about these new cars and the electronic aspect now and spending 60k+ after finance charges to do so, but I know my Jeeps (again not everything I can still learn), know how they are supposed to run, at what temp and how durable they are.
I am going to be the bigger man and apologize for my comment to you. I felt you were jumping on the band wagon of another member who jumped into the thread attacking me.

so i have a 89 Cherokee Laredo and after i wrecked it i didn't have a replacement tranny cooler so i took it out of the mix... now it seems i leak tranny fluid from time to time and cant seem to find where its coming from.. anyways jeep never really overheats, expect one time when i drove 40 miles to get my kids and was going like 75 and had transmission fluid leaking onto the exaust and smoking out the back... any ideas? how much would it help if i put a tranny cooler back on?

I've never heard of a tranny cooler hurting anything....there's always more potential for leaks with a cooler 'cause there's more connections (places to leak)......advantages are greater than disadvantages though. Only way to tell for sure how much cooler fluid runs is install a tranny fluid temp gauge before installing a cooler, note fluid temps, then install a cooler and note temps again. Another thing to consider is ambient temp and driving conditions when comparing before and after (cooler install) fluid temps.
