1989 Laredo Headliner sagging.
If you use another material, other than head liner material, will it matter?
What is the size of the material before glueing and cutting (length and width?)?
Is the 3M glue come in a can or do you have to have an air spray paint gun?
I suppose you buy it at a parts store.
Last but not least, does the cardboard under the headline just come down after all the trim, lights, hooks, and handles are removed?
Thanks for all the posts to this thread!~jretzky

Just measure the width and length of your jeep's roof and add a foot to each and that should be plenty. Most likely when you buy material, it will be much wider than that even.
The 3M glue I linked comes in aerosol cans. You'll need at least 2 of them, maybe 3. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully. Not doing so can result in the glue not sticking. Most important is to let it dry for a few minutes on each surface before sticking them together.
It's not cardboard, but a low density fiberglass type material. Once you take all the trim and lights off, there are likely four sheetmetal hooks holding it in place. 2 above the rear quarter windows and two above the front doors (4 door). Just maneuver around those hooks and then you'll be able to remove them easier after the headliner is down. They are useful when re-installing the headliner as they keep it up just by clicking them in.
Just had a thought...might just take the headliner and hard board out of my parts car and put it in mine.
It looks like it is in pretty good shape, but chances are sooner or later, that one might fall down.
Thanks!~again it doesn't appear to hard to replace the headliner either...

all you need is time here is another option of fabric....i went witht the lumber jack flanel lol. but mine was not cardboard material....it was a pos fiberglass composite so be ready to itch it ifs like mine
When I redid the gf one I did in a pink mossy oak camo I cleaned the board up then fiberglassed the ends near the front the holes and then laided down regisn then sanded the whole thing, I just loctie 300 heavy adhesive the only bad thing about this one, this that when you set it down it done and your not getting it off with ripping the liner apart.

Same one. Have done about thirty headliners for customers and one day I bought the Loctite from the fabric store. Same can as you have. Just to save myself a trip to the hardware store. Had to redo the headliner at my own cost.

huh thats crazy. Yea I bought these ones from home depot and only used a can and a half, maybe it was the prep time and everything I did. I seen the ones at the fabric store of the loctite but didn't like it didn't like the price and it was half from home depot.
