I have an 1989 Jeep Cherokee with a rear main seal that needs to be replaced and would like to give someone in my area a chance to make some money to help me with my issue... I tried to replace the rear main seal myself but was unsuccessful because I would have to drop the transmission to get the job done. I am looking for someone in the is willing to replace my rear main seal for me. I am in the Atlanta Georgia area and to be more specific Carrollton Georgia but can travel to get this done.

i hate maybe's. you are right. but, maybe a shady mechanic told him he had to pull the trans. maybe he has no tools. maybe he doesn't care. maybe i should have asked that first!

I have physically been under there trying to get the oil pan out of there and it is impossible guys seriously.... the transmission is in the way and the front axle is holding it up. urgh... really I need another set of hands to help me cause I can do it but need some help. I have the 4.0 engine. and its up on jack stands and its just not budging.
Did you pull the inspection cover off the trans? I know mine would get stuck on it and would hang. Also you didn't say if lifted or not. I know the shocks have to be unbolted and the trac bar unbolted to allow the axle to drop farther down on stock and small lifts to clear the oil pump pick-up.

No I didnt take the inspection plate off because I didnt think it would make that big of a difference... and as far as the suspension I also did not do that either but had the front axle hanging as far as it could... My jeep is bone stock as far as the suspension goes but will try that too...
