Okay stupid question.... I just rebuilt the engine on my 1988 Cherokee I6 4x4 and I can't find a home to where this hose goes:
And a pic of the engine as it sits now:
Any help would be appreciated. This little hose needs to find a home. Thanks in advance guys!!!

it looks like the old fpr vac line, or the short egr line.
if your jeep is running good, and not reving high, you probably don't need it. looks like everything is in order from what i can see anyways.

Yeah the jeep has got close near 250 miles without it. idles great and runs fine. I was just wondering what it would be doing. The vacuum diagram in my Haynes manual doesn't seem to help much with this. I'm not to worried about it but I would like to know exactly what it is. Thanks for the help

No prior to the engine rebuild I had the crankcase breather tube run to a seperate bottle to catch blow by. The red plug was put there to fix the emissions crap that I shouldn't need. Now that the blow by problem is fixed I ran the breather hose back to the air box. However the mystery hose was on the jeep when I rebuild the engine and so was that red plug.
This is an 88 and I've only had it the last few years so I'm not claiming to have all the hoses connected correctly but I would just like to know. If one place can help me it's here on CF. Thank you
