Default 1988 xj blinker issues

Recently noticed my rear blinkers on my xj wasn't working as the should, well at all. Did some investigation and all the rear circuit and plugs and bulbs were perfectly ok. I discovered that neither of them were receiving power in the rear, at some point I ended up wiggling the large chunk of harness under the driver kickpanel and they started working again, it wasn't a permanent fix but that's the only way I have found to get them functional, I'm not really sure what would cause such a thing or were that loom under the kick panel goes, looking for some help, tired of spending my time under the dash wiggling things until my rear blinkers work again

Behind the spare tire is a compartment that has a whole wiring connection hub.
You have to remove the spare tire, the holding bracket, and the plastic trim. (On the driver's side) it'll take removing a lot of moulding screws, and some time, but please be careful not to Mangle your plastic parts.
In the compartment you will find a wiring connection hub that holds all the wiring for the back of your jeep. The Grounds back here commonly go bad. Sometimes, it's as simple as cleaning them. Sometimes it's the wiring/plug connectors. Disconnect them, inspect for melted or blackened/burned parts, spray with an electric cleaner, and reconnect.
our jeeps tend to rust out in the back quarter panel, in the fender well.
Road dirt/salt/water gets blown up in there while driving.
When I opened mine, I found a 5gallon bucket worth of mud packed into it.

Good luck, God Bless.

I'll double check back there( i was in that area pretty recently to seal up some shotty work of the previous owner) , the wiggling of my harness happens up under the dash to get them to work, and when I hooked up a multimeter to the bulb socket itself there was no positive to be found
