Default 1988 xj

hey guys,

look i am new to this site i am sorry if i bother any of you.

i first want to ask this i am in the midst of trading my 1995 mazda b4000 for a 1988 xj. i am not new to the jeep world i have a 1988 wrangler. to make a long story short. i am getting this xj off a friend of mine my truck is smashed up, and the xj needs some work.

i know the xj is beat up, but i am almost sure it has an xj 44 under it. it is a 4.0L aw4 4wd. this jeep was a beater. my buddy was owed moneya nd was given this jeep if lou of payment.

the interior and exterior are coated in mud. pictures will come when the jeep makes it to my house. the front driverside axle needs to be replaced. it snapped the ears on both sides of the ujoint. the rear end that looks like a dana 44 has no spiders in it. the diff cover doesnt look like a normal dana 44 its a little different. i am almost sure it is a dana 44 fromt he 1 inchtow hitch on the back of the jeep.the good this is that its complete and the jeep runs good though. i cant say much for the tranny as it has no way to drive it right now. also it has a posi-lok installed on the CAD dana 30 so no more vacuum problems. i also have pne in my yj wrangler.

i pose this question to all of you. do i fix the xy up as a toy or part it out or sell it out right. i want to fix it but i know know i will post some pictures up as soo as i get a chance when the jeep arrives at my place either thursday or saturday.

thank you for your time reading this i appreciate it i just dont knwo what to do with this thing.

john

Sounds like a lot of work, I'd just blast it with a shotgun and abandon it on the side of the road.

I guess it depends if you will be doing the work yourself or paying someone. Another question would be what is the purpose of this Jeep..DD, trail only, both?
