1988 Cherokee fast idle problem

Here lately I've notice my 2.5 4 banger with a 5 speed transmission has been idleing fast when I push in the clutch while sitting at a light,anyone know what could cause this problem,also I've notice from time to time it surging up and down,any suggestions to the fix would be greatly appeaciated. " thanks in advance"

Make sure your intake manifold bolts aren't loose.
Spray some throttle body cleaner around the hoses below the throttle body. Known for cracking.

I thank you Cruiser54 for all this information on this generation of Jeeps more than you"ll ever know and I'll follow your instructions on your posts to a T, It's nice to have someone to give you the heads up once in a while to help save some of us from trowing money in places we don't need to.
