1988 Cherokee 4x4 VIN Question.

1988 Cherokee 4x4 VIN Question.
My daughter just bought this 88' XJ.
All the numbers in the VIN coordinate on most Vin Decoders except the "5th" digit which is a "T".
I can't find "T" anywhere, Any info would be greatly appreciated. Not an issue, just a curiosity at this point.
