Hi folks, first time here. I'm looking for 4-hole fuel injector upgrades. Don't want to mod anything, e.g. having to buy a new fuel injector rail or pressure regulator. I want a plug and play upgrade.

While researching, I came across the following:
This website ev1-new gen iii, jeep 1987-95 - performance fuel injectors - oem fuel injector sets from bosch injectors, siemens, denso - 0280155710 states that the bosch/ford #0280155710 can be used as a stock upgrade to my 1988 renix 4.0l – “no modification necessary.”

However, this page more budget injector upgrade questions - page 20 - jeep cherokee forum at post #296 states that i would need a fuel pressure regulator and the fuel rail it fits on (presumably, the fpr won’t fit on the stock fuel rail).

Don’t requiring a new fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator constitute a “modification”? Or is one or the other of the aforementioned websites incorrect?

I just need the correct information, part number, etc. so I can do the "upgrade".
Thanks all!

Simple. Use 0 280 155 746 injectors from a Volvo in your Renix. Best ever.

There are some "testimonials" here from people who have installed the 746's (it was Programbo who put me on to them) > https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/1990-renix-volvo-bosch-19-280-155-746-injector-swap-163105/

Cruiser is right. The Volvo injectors he mentioned install easily with no mods. Better throttle response and gas mileage. Runs great in the Renix system. I also strongly recommend the pink link in his signature. My 87 runs like a champ thanks to him.

cp10471, aka Cody, was the guinea pig for the C101 elimination and the 746 injectors. It's his Jeep in the photos of Post #27. Because of his insistance in bypassing the C101 connector versus cleaning, Post 27 exists.

We saw his "lazy" oxygen sensor, which we were going to replace, go to switching perfectly just after the C101 elimination with no other mods.

Excuse me Pete. (Cruiser). Unless I'm mistaken, I'm the first to run the 746's, see this thread> https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/199...r-swap-163105/

I forward your stuff daily, but never credit someone else. Agan my thanks For sharing so much with us.

I myself never asked Programbo which cars use them, Volvo is all I know.

Crusier, I waz looking through that old thread, you or DJB might save that photo of the T-stat not seating in #26. I can never find it.

You were the first to use them on programbo's recommendation. Cody's were the first 746s that I used personally.......

In my opinion " Tehachapi" is a way cooler handle than "reformer#*$% . In any case WELCOME! (DFlintstone is a typo)

I'm just tossing this out there. The (unfortunate) PO of my New white 90, spent around $400, got new stock injectors, bought from Napa. It idles/runs great, and I got some supper highway mileage. Almost 25 on Chevron supreme, pushing 200K on that one.

And thanks for the info reformedricky, I'll put that in the 746 thread.

Hello. There are a LOT of these out there in salvage yards if anyone wants to go look for some. They come in a wide range of Volvo models. As someone stated they generally come from 5 cylinder cars so you will need to find 2 cars. There is one engine where you get 6 but they are harder to get out. In this model the injectors run from front to back on the side of the engine like they do on a Cherokee. All the others they run side to side across the front. Most you will need a T-25 tork bit to get them out if you don't want to damage the slots for the clip nuts. The 746's come either yellow or an orangish color and have both metal and plastic tips. An earlier version of the same injector is the 0280155702 which is also found in Volvos and some SAABS. They are blackish-gray or a very dark almost black-green. The very common Ford 700 and 710's are the same injector but without the clip-nut slots which is why the Volvos are used as a substitute.
