I unplugged the sensor on the tstat nothing happened.
Autozone showed a relay (read previous page) I was shown a link with relay in fender. Its not in the underhood box there is a smallee aux relay but it uses the exact same relay as the ac I replaced it

I unhooked all that wiring and replaced it with a relay. I could NOT find a part number online for it. it kept trying to give me the same relay shown in the autozone add on page one of this (also the same relay they tried to sell me)
idk where that relay would go other than the fender area. I've not checked it yet and will when my stepdad leaves my mom is home visiting (I live in their house since they come home maybe 3-4 weeks total a year) I just keep getting to hear him say idiotic comments so I refuse to go mess with it when he's here.
the relay I stuck in the wiring location (says aux fan on the lid) is the same relay as the others around it which is an a/c compressor relay. I just took one of the spare relays to them and bought one like it.
OK the clutch fan.. I drove it home just now from town ( i should have searched for the relay sorry) and at temp the mechanical fan is spinning freely with the engine off.. it's now spinning as free as say a skateboard wheel or something .. pretty dang smooth. last time a checked it when engine was cold the fan would hardly turn...
stepdad is arguing that this is normal that once the engine is at rpm the clutch kicks in causing it to hold to the shaft and spin with the engine.. but everything I read says it should be stiff...
someone please give me your input.. I will gladly trust you over him.
