Default 16" wheels

I should have been more clear...What I meant was are there any known 16" Jeep wheels that fit my '94 XJ that have the correct BACKSPACING. I know the bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5 but I have not been able to find if that bolt pattern continued into the era of 16" wheels.

I don't want adapters, don't want spacers. Just stock wheels with a 5 on 4.5" spacing with the correct backspacing.

For that matter...I don't know what the backspacing measurement is either but I do know I don't want the wheels to stick out farther.

ZJ 16s will fit, up to a certain year (I think its 99 but not sure)
Not sure on the backspacing (pretty sure its the same) but I have a pair of "snowflakes" on mine.

16s were never offered in the later model cherokees? i never knew that, i figured they would've made it an option on the higher end models in the late 90s and 00/01 years

They where offered.
97+ models had an option for 16s.

Also, rubicon rims will fit and look nice.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want the 15's?

Overall, I believe tire options are a huge amount better than with 16's.

Why do YOU want 16's?

No big reason - I'm looking for a good set of wheels to replace the stockers which I'm giving to my son with a set of 31.50x10 Pro Comp Mud Terrain tires for his Wrongler. I'm taking his tires but his wheels are junk...so that got me thinking maybe 16's.

Your comment is persuasive, though. The options are vastly better with 15's...and they are cheaper, by and large.

^^^ The two main reasons right there. Cheaper and more options.
