Is a 15x8 rim gonna make my tires look wider than my stock xj rims? I've got 31x10.50s on my stock rims. And I intend on putting them on my 15x8s. Is the stock xj rim that i have a 15x7?

 

Hi, most stock cherokee rims are 15/7. The wider the rim, the bigger the footprint on the tire will be. I am running 10/15 Cragar D Windows with 29/10.5/15 TrXus and they are much wider than specified..They will work great on 8/15's...Tj

 

X2 most stock rims are 15x7. I have 15x8 and I have 30x9.5 tires.

 

Sorry for the threadjack but I'm getting ready for some new 235's and I'm also thinking about getting rims. I may or may not end up lifting my xj someday. I like the looks of an xj with the wheels sticking out a bit. Will 15x7's with 4"bs achieve the look I want? 15x8's seem like they may be too wide for 235's and the biggest tire I'll go to, with a lift, is 31's. Thanks.

Get 15x8 if you want it to stick out a little. Your stock wheels are 15x7 so they will sit where they are at now. Thats what I went with and 31x10.50s.

 

when you order the 15x8's find out how much backspacing they have, thats what makes them stick out more... i just ordered mine with 4" backspacing that makes them stick out more
