150*running temp
My XJ runs 150 at all times, aside from idling for a while in the hot sun. Highway, or in-town.. 150* How bad is this?

If that's correct, it will affect your mileage. You want to be closer to 200*. There might even be an issue or your computer, (ECM), running it on "default" settings, in "open loop". The 195* OEM T-stat really is best. I bought a non OEM, then ended up changing it. (don't forget to put the hole in the t-stat up at 12:00!).

Take out that thermostat and flush your block with a garden hose and or pressure washer and stick a blow gun in all your water lines and blow out all the nastiness.
