so your sayin i should buy a ford 8.8 for up front and use the 12 bolt 8.88 in the rear? cause thats what i was gonna do but all the j/ys said they didnt have any so i gotta keep searchind

The only place Ford used the 8.8 in the front of was the IFS modern trucks..


They never made a 8.8 solid front axle..

He was saying buy a Ford 8.8 for the rear since you have to buy an axle anyway and you can get the gears you already have most of the time.

Right, sorry I didnt make myself clear. I meant get the Ford 8.8 for the rear. Then you also have disk brakes. Leave your Dana 30 up front.

well for those of you who said its not happenin well it is im puttin 4.56 gears in there and matchin the front .. started to sand blast the housing today and its almost ready for paint and i got the spider gears welded up good.. im going to weld in new shock mounts and leaf perchs to the right measurements .. this is a good learning experience for me i never rebuilt a rear end and am learning lots of things about it... will update this when this progresses

if your doing full widths look for a high pinion dana 44 out of a ford but you will have different bolt patterns unless you get them redrilled
