I have an 01 xj with 183xxx miles that has trans issues. When cold it doesn’t want to come out of 1st until the accelerator is released and then re applied. It will then skip 2nd and then go to 3rd. It will then go back to 2nd and run normally for a bit. Intermittently it will drop gears when running highway speeds but return back to od pretty quick. New torque converter and idles at 200 rpms if that makes a difference.
