Default '01 Jeep Cherokee electrical problem

Hey all, having some problems getting my baby to start. Drove it back to work from lunch and when I go to start it after work. . . nothing. It won't start. Nothing electrical on the inside works, except, my cell phone charger light. Its plugged into the extra port and the big blue light shines but is somewhat dim. If I put the keys in the ignition and turn to the start position, the charger light turns off. Does that also when I turn the key back to engage just the battery. Same thing happens if my door is open. Did notice the green light on the passenger side automatic lock switch is also very dim. It also exhibits the same symptoms as the cell charger. I should also note about a week ago the jeep would only one click and no crank. All the lights inside were on and I could play the radio then. That ended up being a loose battery post connector. I did get the battery tested a week ago, the shop said it was fine. Anyways, after a long walk home I decided to come join this forum and see what anyone had to say. Could it be a bad ground wire? Alternator? Thanks.

Welcome! Might wanna start by making sure the battery connections are supper nifty. The lead can get a thin grey crust. Looks OK but does sort of what you are describing. The bat terminals are sort of easy. Wire brush, sand paper, even scrape with the edge if a knife. Inside the cable end is a little harder. I use the small blade on my Swiss army knife. Whatever...get clean bare, fresh lead.

I was going to say it sounds like a loose battery terminal, or a dead battery...

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try that in the morning, should I just cut some off the end and then reconnect the the new exposed lead?
