Default 01 headlight problems.

so a couple weeks ago the head lights stopped working. the turn signals parking lights and brights (if the switch was pulled towards you but wouldn't work if turned on at all times) all worked. pulled the dash apart and found a burnt out headlight switch and plug replaced the switch and when put back together the headlights worked but the parking lights and tail lights stopped working. but the turn signals and brake lights still work. brights stayed the same only working when the switch was pulled towards you not when brights were turned on. figured the plug needed replaced replaced the plug wired it all up correctly nothing has changed. any idea? any help is appreciated.

never mind. i figured it out. i decided to start pulling the fuses under the hood that are not labeled on the fuse box one of them was burnt out replaced it and everything works. i never thought of looking there until i was out of ideas mainly because they weren't marked so i didn't know what they were for.

It's possible that your headlight switch somehow blew that fuse.

I would highly recommend you upgrade your headlight's wiring harness with an aftermarket one such as the Putco to add relays (search). Not only will you prevent your headlight switch from frying again, you'll also have brighter lights! This is a must-have upgrade on the Cherokees.
