So I changed the head gasket in the Cherokee I just bought. It ran when I drove it into garage. Now I have compression and spark but no injector pulse. I have fuel at the Schrader valve but the injectors wont fire

Yeah, you left something unplugged or ungrounded. Go back over each electrical connection one by one.

Unplug and carefully replug everything. Try a start cycle after each one.

Sounds like you forgot to connect something electrical, Or maybe bent a prong on one of the connectors somewhere.. Check all grounds too..

Ant...

It's not a sensor it's a plug connection.

Did you let the plug from the CPS fall back behind the block? Even if your CPS is connected (connector near the back of the head on the manifold side) check and make sure it's plugged in all the way. It's a three conductor connector, but has only two wires. Disconnected CPS will cause the ECU to not send pulses to the injectors.

I did let it fall behind the block but I did get it and connected it but that was before I tried to fire it.

Nope! He wouldn't have a spark along with no fuel if the CPS wiring was at fault. Like the others said check all of your connection and grounds.

You need to check the spark to make sure that it's a strong blue spark. Also what is the fuel pressure in the fuel rail. Depending on the year since you never said. On the earlier years the pressure should be 39psi and later 49psi. If you have a good spark try shooting some starting fluid in the tb and if it start you have a fuel problem.
