01 Explorer at JunkYard. What can I grab (axle / Suspension)?
01 Ford Explorer at the JunkYard. The rear axle is a Ford 8.8 still right? I can use that right? What procedure is there to adapt it to an XJ with a Dana 35 in rear without ABS?
Are there any parts on this that I can pull to start piecing together a lift?
Thanks in advance for the help,
s

Ya its probably an 8.8 but if your gonna do that get one from a 95+ they come with disc brakes. Also some have limited slip already in them and some 4.10 gears. I found 3 in the junk yard yesterday with 3L73 gears but I couldn't find a D30 with the same gears.
What you need to do to put it in an XJ is cut off the spring perches and shock mounts, then weld them where they need to go for the XJ stuff. You can buy kits that come with the mounts and U bolts for about $120 and you just have to weld them, or have someone weld them.
Also, when you set up the new mounts, make sure your pinion angle is right so you dont get drive line vibrations.

'01 is newer than a '95 so he has the right rear end. Follow those instructions and you will have a very stout rearend under your Jeep.
