Default '00 XJ rear end thunk

This is driving me nuts so I'm looking for help here. When I'm driving and come to a stop I get a thunk sound from the back end. It also does it when I start moving. I can't tell if it's coming from the driveshaft or axle. Any ideas?

Does it feel like the rearend is wrapping up? Mine was doing that and it was the slip yoke on the drive shaft going into the transfer case, take your drive shaft off and put some grease on the splines or you can use anti-seize on it to. There isn't any lube going to the splines so once a year I lube it myself. Hope this helps.

I'll check this out more this weekend. Also, the leaf springs so bad they are starting to bow up. I don't know if that could cause the thunking. I'll let you guys know what I find. Thanks.

I am also hearing a clunk from my rear end I grabbed the hatch and shook it when it was closed and it seems to be coming from the hatch itself.
