These are some pictures I've taken on the way to work. If any of you have ever seen or been on some of the mining roads in Southwestern Virginia or Eastern Kentucky, you'll know that going to work is wheeling in and of itself.

The pictures of the waterfall are my favorite. And before anyone goes over me having the Jeep in the water, that stream has been sunk from all the mining, and doesn't drain into any fresh water, only into more polluted water than it already is...

I also threw a couple of pics of the recently vacated houses (they look like they have been abandoned for years!) just to show what I'm talking about when I say the creek that runs about 200 yards away from these houses is FAR from clean...

Thanks, and yes, it saves about $5 that would be spent at the car wash

Here is a couple more. Pictures really don't show how big that fall is.

LoL! My dad was driving in the pics (he drives for the same company I do, carpool FTW!), he can't operate a camera to save his life, so I let him pull it under the fall AFTER I got out. That water is beyond cold!

Here is his truck, no pics of mine yet, but they are all the same, just different colors.

NOTE: This pic was taken by my dad, so you will notice the time and date stamp is wrong...

I swear I have seen pictures of that church looking building before.. with the outhouse next to it. Looks like a pretty ghostly town, could certainly be a bit creepy in the right setting...

It's more like a village. All the truckers call it "Motown" because, unfortunately the place is remnants of segregation days (yeah it's THAT old).

It is a pretty neat place to work. Right behind the church they are putting in a new deep mine (we're talking 30 feet away) and they've been blasting to put it in, so no one is allowed in or around them, that's why all the pics were taken from the Jeep.
