Grizzly Lake
My brother and I tried the Grizzly Lake trail on Saturday. He drives a CJ but he’s still alright.
This is the first time a trail I have tried has beat me. It had been raining for about an hour and stopped just as we got to the trail head There was lots of mud and water to deal with and the first obstacle stopped me dead.
I tried the center and had no traction in the mud.
I tried the left side.
And slid off the rocks and almost flipped it. Fortunately I high centered on the downhill rail and stopped the roll.
After we dragged it out of there I tried the right side. I could get the front up but did not have the clearance to pull the back up.
Now I have a nice design on my drive shaft and a new vibration at 70mph.
Oh well, maybe next time.

Wow, that looks like some great trails and awsome scenery. Sometimes the skinny pedal get's you out of trouble, sometimes it gets you in a whole lot of trouble.

Mud scares me!!! I have spent to much time sitting in bogs.
An SYE would be great but I didn't have any vibrations before I dented the drive shaft. For now I want to save my cash for some gears and a locker. The 3.55 are not cutting it. Since this is my DD, I think I'll go with 4.27.

FYI, the first obstacle has gotten tougher since last year. Although te majority of the trail is not too technical you can still get yourself in lots of trouble if you're not carefull. Recovery gear is essential and you shouldn't run this trail alone if possible.

I've never been there before and I'm planning to give it a shot together with my buddies...
