Looking for a gas tank skid for a 96 Cherokee XJ. In the Va beach area, willing to travel up to an hour or pay for shipping if your in the MidAtl area.

 

i have a zj gas tank skid for sale. with little modification it fits on the xj. i currently have one on mine. pm me if interested. i live around allentown pa

Hi. I got a gas tank skid, steering skid and TC skid at the Pick-N-Pull on Sykes Avenue Off of Virginia Beach Blvd Oceanfront. $20 each and someone had already removed them, just laying around the vehicle.
Also, seats from a Grand Cherokee bolt right in, comfy. $30 each with track. Then you can sell the tracks on e-bay for $30 each side because you re-use the XJ ones. Other cool stuff too for cheap.

Also,there are a hundred good salvage yards in Norfolk-Chesapeake-Oceana. Break out the Yellow Pages and call them, I guarantee you will find one. They may want $40 versus pick-n-pull's $20

 

I hear you on the pick n pull, I've been there multiple times, haven't been able to make it recently. I know there is usually 1-3 xj's in the yard at any given time though. Hoping I can make it out this sat since I will have free time with no other obligations.

 

ZJ skid works good too. I have one on my '98 XJ. Just use your hitch as a guide & drill it out.

 

That's good to know. I understand the skid also help tie together the 2 unit-body rails. And at a good location, between the leaf springs. Couple that with Nates4x4 bumper that also ties into the hitch and skid location with 6 bolts. That takes care of the rear end.
