That would be a Dana 35 REAR axle. There is absolutely no way that you or anyone else could use it as a front axle being that the differential is centered on the axle.

The Dana 35 was used in the 90's in Ford trucks but it was an independent front suspension. According to Wikipedia. LOL. I would NEVER use IFS for anything .. but thats my personal preference, it would in my opinion to go thru the hassle of installing IFS in any jeep with a solid front axel.

Haha don't get me started on those ford d35 ifs setups. Every time I went wheeling with my buddy in his 91 Ranger I spent most of the day pulling him out because his ifs was a joke when it came to wheeling. I will be more specific and state that the axle pictured above is a Dana 35C axle which is a straight axle sprung over setup. The number combination "43225" stamped on the cover is the most definite identifier for this axle. The locker for sale in this thread WILL fit this axle but the axle WILL NOT fit the front of an Xj. I've heard of people successfully running this locker in a Dana 30, but do your own research before buying.

Seeing how there is a bunch of D35 haters on here you may not even be able to give it away! jk

Seriously, what is the lowest you will take for it? I might be interested if the price is decent.
