Strange.... I've never seen an Xj without the holes there. I just went out and checked mine and its aligned just the way yours is.

yeah, I would unbolt it and move the bumper around to find the holes, all cherokees were built (except apparently maybe yours) with the three steering box holes on either rail.

My top steering box bolt didnt quite line up along with another which is normal, they rarely do on something like this due to manufacturing tolerances. my biggest qualm was that the tubes for the prerunner bars didnt just need to be welded, they needed to be angle cut to sit on the bumper and the side bars needed to be notched which is IMO not as advertised. Not everyone who has a welder also has the ability to notch their tubes

I tell everyone or try to that all my bars well need to be cut to fit, in my add on eBay you can see in the pic they are not cut should not be a problem to anyone all you need is a grinder with a cutoff wheel and and grinding wheel, thanks for everyones orders keep them coming in

Yeah, the mobile app sometimes does take me to the newest post that I didn't already see, so I have to guess.

And to answer the question just by looking at the brackets it looks as if it need to come back like 2"

my lady friend just got back home with the jeep. i verified 100% my pos doesnt have the box pattern on the passenger side. truly american!!
