Broke steering box bolt and since the po got in a little wreck non of the front bolts match up..... Is it still sturdy/strong enough to winch with only 4 bolts on each side.

If you can't get all the the bolts in and plan on running a winch I would recommend either straightening the frame rails or drilling new holes to fully mount the winch bumper.Originally Posted by chrisquested

Look up the Durango steering box swap for an Xj... google can do amazing things. It's a bolt on upgrade you can find in a junkyard and now would be the perfect time to do it. Doing that swap now would be 100x easier than drilling and tapping you current box. If you can't find a Durango box, than pick up a stock Xj box at the junkyard and toss it in. They won't be hard at all to find and will provide an easy solution to your problem.Originally Posted by Ronni3
