Exclamation Another new product offering from BWE! Comp Shackles!

We now manufacture the best shackle on the market for your XJ. Period.

Utilizing Ballistic Fab's fantastic 2.63" flex joint at the chassis end, the shackles are now free of any lateral bind and can move with the natural arc of the leaf spring. This relieves the torsional stress placed on the uni-body as well as the main leaf during suspension movement. The primary benefits of this are a substantially more supple rear suspension, along with more effective droop or "weight transfer" at the rear tires. The flex gains are similar to a "revolver" type shackle but without the drawbacks of sudden unloading and wheel hop.

We're offering them in 3 different variations:

- Complete welded set: $185 Shipped
- DIY Fabricators kit with Ballistic Fab joints: $110 Shipped
- DIY Fabricators kit without Joints: $35 Shipped

*Hardware and spanner wrench available for additional cost as well*

Product Description:

They will provide 1.5" of lift over stock, and are "boomeranged" to provide additional clearance at the chassis. They will work with the factory shackle mounts, although shackle relocation boxes are highly recommended to really gain the benefits these shackles offer.

Due to the width difference of the Joints and the factory shackles, shimming will be required using the provided 9/16" washers to center the shackle in the mount. This is very easy to do and does not compromise the strength of the assembly provided the bolt is torqued down properly.

Components are CNC cut and formed from 1/4" Plate.

Complete shackles, and DIY kits come bare (no paint).

Thanks for looking! We'll have more soon as well!

Some flex pics of the Boostwerks XJ:

Currently the limiting factor for us is the rear shock (10" travel) and the factory upper mounting points. We will be going to a 14" travel shock here soon with our custom sheet metal shock towers.

Bump for a new year!

Stuff those relocation brackets with the best shackles on the market!

What our customers have said:

The shackles are killer, I never realized how much a leaf twists when articulated that far!
I'm loving your shackles!!

14"+ worth of travel is easily attained with our shackles. In other words...

We don't need no stinking 4 links.

Got my set of these BWE Comp Shackles. Pure BEEF!! Can't wait for the install.

In the pictures, they look like the legs are offset L-R. It is just an optical illusion. They are perfectly symmetrical L-R.
They do have a slight 'boomerang' shape to them.

The 'bad'. They took me like an hour using the spanner wrench to get the threaded/'screw in' joint face out of the joint. It is like the Ballistic Joint outer shell 'shrunk' slightly during the welding process. Threads are clean. Hopefully after a slight thread cleanup and they will assemble much easier then they come apart. Also needs a longer arm on the spanner wrench, about 12" longer (18"overall).

PROJECT--
Next is to clean, paint, grease and assemble the BWE Comp Shackles.
Plan is to remove my sagged 5.5" lift ?Rubicon Express rear springs, 4.5" springs + longer lift boomerang shackles.
Install RC relocation brackets, 56" 4 leaf rear springs with 8" arch which will relocate the axle 1" rearwards. 56" springs are 4.5" longer than stock.
Install the BWE Comp Shackles on the last/furthest back hole on the RC relocation brackets. The shackles should be angled back at a 45* angle.
Probably I will need longer rear Bilstein shocks.
Front- lengthen TNT long arms 0.5-1", install ACOS and adjust to level height, install 'cheater' 1" lift lower shock mounts.
Finally 35" x 17" Duratracs and bump stop and clearance the stock flares to fit.
Better ride. Add 1-1.5" lift from where I am at now, More flex and droop. 35s and stock fender flares. Improve RTI score for giggles.
All with rear leafs.
