with some practice you should be able to mig without much slag left over. I used galv primer when I did my plates and had pretty good results with the mig. not sure if it's different with flux though.

I'll definitely have practice. I used napa's "zinc rich" primer. It said in the description it was fine to use with welds. Maybe I was just sucking lol. I'll give it another shot and see. Workin in the truck this weekend.

I liked the feel of the truck every time I lowered it. The lower it got, the more stable it became. It's going to 4.5" for now until I get around to reworking the fenders and getting the shocks in order.

I too have a 14 bolt but it is Gen II and their kit has the Gen I bracket. I don't think it can be adapted but I don't know for sure.
I bought some of their parts a few years back and they are pure beef.
I am glad you are posting your build as I am doing the same build but at a really slow pace do to time and money constraints.

Got to work on the mid-stiffeners the past few days. Picture is a stiffener half tacked into place. They're 3/4 burnt in on both sides. Will have pictures up tomorrow of them finished hopefully
Also picked up 37" mtrs to get the truck rolling. They're 25% so they should last the winter.
Picture is the 37 next to a 35 with 12/32 tread.
