ok so i was changing out my radio in my 91 laredo and my power antenna wouldnt go up so i tried to start the car and it wouldnt turn over. the dome lights would not go on and radio had no power and the dash didnt light up. everytime i turned on the lights the clock would turn off. i replaced the dome light fuse and radio turned on with the dome lights. it will start when jumped but as soon as i turn it off it just ticks

 

check and make sure your battery terminals are tight. try to twist them.

if they are tight, then yeah, you may have to replace the battery. if they are loose any bit, try tightening them.

but before you replace the battery, do a visual inspection on the battery cables all the way from the battery to the starter, and the battery ground to the engine block. sometimes they get corroded and won't let the juice flow.

 

went to autozone and my battery was toast

 

hopefully the alternator is charging good still
