96 XJ possible wiring issue
Quick summary.
96 XJ 4.0
-Suddenly would not start. Turn key, does nothing. Not even trying to turn over.
-Battery replaced, is new and working well.
-I am getting power from the ignition switch inside the steering column.
-I have removed the NSS, cleaned and reinstalled, Same result
-I have removed all Grounds and reseated to ensure god connection.
-I attempted to use the "jumper" method on the cable and was able to get it to start a few times, then nothing again.
-Relays and Fuses are all good.
-It seemed that when I moved the cables around at the harness I was able to intermittently get a start. Now nothing again, even with jumper in.
-When I check the starter I have power to the constant hot, but when ignition is turned there is no power getting to the starter solenoid.
My conclusion is that I have a bad wire somewhere, or possible an issue with the ECU.
Any other thoughts or advice? I have been looking for a wiring diagram to attempt to run new cables from the NSS to the ECU. That assumes that those wires run directly to the ECU.
Really getting frustrated. Any help would be great.
