Unhappy 90 accelorator cable(throttle cable)

ok i got a 1990 jeep cherokee for 500 bux.drove it about 70 miles home fine,took it though a few mud holes around my barn,then parked it.3 days later i leave my barn and the gas pedal falls loose and i had nothing,still runs fine.what i'm thinking is i broke my throttle cable,dose this sound right?......i've never broke a cable before in any of my cars or trucks so i would'nt know what is going on.please help

I had that issue the cable popped off the pedal on top were a bushing was sopposed to be. I fixed it with a zip tie no more problems.

ok i'll see what i can do.i cant belive i didnt think of that,(i'm the master of zip tie's)lol...is there anyway you could send me a pic of how you zip tied it?if you can send it to sillyseckia4755@aol.com....

anyone else got any ideas?i'm going to try the zip ties this weekend but i'm not sure thats the problem..

ok i found it was the cable at the linkage,slide it on and zip tied it.good for now.i'll prolly fix it right later

hey i have a jeep cherokee 1990 limited 4.0L
i need to change a accelerator cable i search on the web. i found alot of cables some of it 26" & 27" & 35" i need to know witch one is the right four my jeep ????? please help
