Default Transmission

I know this has been discussed before but i havent seen a definitive answer. I have 1996 Cherokee Country. 2wd auto (AW4). 4.0 HO. The transmission works perfect 80% of the time. 20% or so of the time it will drop into 3rd while cruising and get stuck there. Rpm's about 3000 at 55mph. Pull over, switch key off, restart good as new for a couple more days. Only codes it is giving is shift selenoid 2 and 3 which have both been replaced. Trans has been serviced and it works like a new tranny 80% of the time. No specific conditions that relate to when it happens. IT can happen in the first 5 minutes of driving or after 2 days of driving. Transmission harness has been checked and is good. Besides the possible TPS, what are possible causes. Has the 96 Cherokee been known for electrical issues?

Not particularly known for any electrical problems that I am aware of. Un plug the computer and clean the contacts and then re-plug it. See if that does anything. Sounds like a bad contact somewhere.
