I got my 31" M/T's on yesterday. Was driving through town, went over a big bump on a bridge and the metal on my fenders made my tires emo for a brief moment. I was pissed. My shocks are toast so that's why they rubbed.

Cut the front today and did the cut and fold on the rear and I think the rear are still gonna rub.

dont run 35" on and xj unless you gotta d44 in the rear and beef up the d30 in the front, learned that the hard way.

I have about 7" of lift and 35's without rub BUT I did do a considerable amount of trimming. It took a few trim and test runs to get it right though. I am running MTZ 35x12.50 on 15x10 wheels (black steelies) with 5" back spacing.

I was running the same size and backspacing Eagle 589's - I've had to trim a little more since these were taken.

My XJ is at the center up top. I have roughly 6" and I clear 35s easily. I had to to bumpstop the crap out of the back but suprisingly the front would clear without much bumpstop at all but I do had plenty there too.

IMO 6.5" and 35s and like peanut butter and jelly lol. Just be ready for new lower gears and a SYE. Plus some beefed up steering and extra U joints.

I really can't remember to be honest. I can check the part numbers if you need me to though.

defiantly the best route to go, but for the budget minded, you can still run 35's as long as you have the right gearing on a Dana30 front or any rear axle. the Chrysler 8.25 rear is a little better than the Dana35, but still capable of running 35's if all precautionary measures are taken. there are a few people out there that do run the 35's without upgrading the axle and have no problems.
