Today I was being nosey and I decided to look in my engine bay since getting my 2014 latitude 2 months ago, my Jeep has the crappy yellow halogen headlight bulbs, during my look I noticed on each side of the fender by the headlights there are ballasts. It confused me so I ran the numbers on the ballasts in google and they came back as HID ballasts. I have not had time to actually get in there and see if they are hooked up to the haolgen bulbs. So does this mean i can just plug and play some HID bulbs? they are 1 on each side right where the DRL meet the fender.
I think that's actually that's the module for the LED daytime running lights.
I agree the stock halogen bulbs on the 2014 are pretty anemic. https://www.xenondepot.com/ sells nice kits to upgrade to HID or LED. I installed one of their HID kits and really like it.

ok then i add a new question. i found them as HID ballasts and you found them as LED headlight ballasts but I have halogen headlights. i think I need to spend a day that its not snowing (I don't have a garage) and its a little warmer and chase the wires and see where they hook up
I just looked at my 2014 TrailHawk which came with halogens. I have the same modules. I didn't see any wires coming out of them, and judging by the pictures there are two connectors on the back that plugs onto the back of the LED running lights.
Yeah, not sure why some sellers (mostly ebay) were calling them HID ballasts. Ballast is a term used for LED drivers through.
