88 MJ 4.2 to a 90 XJ 4.0 with aw4

Can I move Just the motors? or will I need something specific to swap out as well?

Which engine is going where? The 258 (4.2) will be a significant decrease in power, torque, and reliability. Hopefully you're going from the 258 TO a 4.0.

no. The 4.0 needs to be broken down. Its in my daily, so I need the 4.2 to keep making paychecks.

Unless someone did a swap, the 88 MJ came with a 4.0 and is the same block as a 91 XJ.
