Looking for front/mid underside skid plates. But I can't make up my mind. The three options I am looking at (one is a crossmember and skid plate):
Skid Row Offroad Engine and Transmission Skid Plate
JCR Offroad Transfer Case Skid Plate
SFR Trail Proof Crossmember & T-Case Skid
Hope that experts can weigh in. Maybe there is another option all together.
Want to protect my oil pan an cat at the very least. That sort of eliminates option three. But for the same option, like the idea of the upgraded crossmember.
Wondering if any cf.com patrons can post [links to] picks of any of these products?
I don't have the means to fab up anything on my own.
In my opinion for the money, if your wanting strictly bolt on skids. I'd go for Rustys. Ik Ik everyone bashes Rustys on this site, but best bang for the buck.
-Rustys crossmember, tcase skid, and fuel tank skid.
-Stinky Fab for the trans pan skid.
-Blue Torch Fab for diff skids.

X2 with Rusty's. I have never had an issue with their products. I have their HD crossmember and I modified their transfer case skid plate to sit higher. I have a np242 case with a raised trans mount that puts the case flush with the uniframe and was able to raise the transfer case skid higher than the crossmember. Mixed with my 2x6 rockers with the tie in supports and stiffeners my center is pretty well armored. Next on my list if Stink Fab's AW4 skid plate.
I had a rusty's plate. I only took it off to replace it with a bolt on skid for my 3-link cross member. The rusty's plate was beefy and covered lots of real estate. My only complaint was it did hang a little low for my liking. Its for sale if anyone is interested

If you have a stock gas tank skid plate and plan on hitting big rocks you can plate it. I plated mine with 1/8" and makes it out to be just hair thicker than 3/16" and didn't cost me much for the sheet.

Lol thanks, just go to https://www.rustysoffroad.com and check out skids. I've ran all the skids I mentioned until I did my 3 link and still currently run his fuel tank skid. Best bang for you buck. And like one guy said previously, an engine oil skid is not really necessary. It's protected by the axle, driveshaft, and links.

That depends on what you drive thru....I had a tree limb come up thru all that crap and break the dipstick tube off my engine and ding the oil filter..........
