So I decided to test fit the brush guard I bought awhile back. It bolts up to the brackets that my factory tow hooks are bolted to. Fortunately my landlord owns a nursery/landscaping business. He has all these plastic plant trays. They were the exact height for me to bolt up the brush guard. Lucky for me. Cause I have no idea how I would have done this by myself. So couple anticipated problems and a couple that were not. One that was not was the fact that I can not center the brush guard on the Jeep. The holes for the bolts are elongated side to side on the brush guard. At first I thought it was the tow hooks that was not letting me push it anymore towards the driver's side. There is no play on how those bolt in. But the hole is maxed out as far as it can be on the driver's side and still let me get the bolt in. At first I thought it was the factory tow hooks that were not letting me go anymore to one side. Was not even sure if I could still use the factory tow hooks. Thinking I could elongate the holes in the brush guard some more but then almost positive I would not be able to use the tow hooks. They are right up against the down piece as it is. I already trimmed my bumper caps to accommodate the tow hooks when I put them in last year. Need to trim some more for the brush guard. I do not want to open it all the way down. I had the original ones the Jeep came with. The PO hacked them up trying to do something so I am using one of those to see how much I have to trim. Needs to be about a 1/4" more below the yellow tape line. Also though there is a piece on the brush guard that will not let me put the tow hook straight and right against it. Thinking if I take my die grinder with a cutting wheel I can notch out in the area of the white circle a bit and it will work. And I have to replace one of the rivnuts for the headlight guards. Then figure out if I am going to refinish it or just leave it be.

Not the Cherokee, but got a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, compressor bracket, and hoses for the Comanche to run r134a and have all of the correct matching stuff.

Popped the flares and endcaps off so i could hit the flares and rear bumper with bedliner. I love BG penetrating oil. Lol, only snapped 4 of the flare studs, one on each flare. The ones i missed and didnt spray. Oops.

What did you use for bedliner? I had my door molding, rear mud flaps, and the factory running boards I installed Line-X'ed. The running boards were green and my Jeep is black so....Thinking about doing other stuff but it is not cheap. And if I start bedlining stuff myself figure the textures won't match.

Lol, same stuff ive been using since my first XJ, good ol Duplicolor BedArmor in a rattlecan.

Prep is everything, along with patience. VERY light coats, 15min between each coat. But applied properly this stuff is tough as nails.

So far got the washer fluid pumps removed got the drivers rocker panel exposed to be cut sectioned and replaced with the new rocker, cleaned out the rear and spilled some washer fluid everywhere!


It's down to 3 things!

Is.. is that a window hand crank I see? Holy smokes!. When I tell my kids about how we used to have to hand roll our windows up and down. They just roll there eyes at me and laugh.

My '96 that I used to own had crank windows, auto, 4.0, rear defogger, tilt wheel, full gauges, and an 8.25 rear. It was like the original owner put some thought into the options. Kept it simple but payed what was necessary.

Yessir it is! I prefer manual locks and windows. There is less stuff that can break!

I've only had them on for 24 hours, but so far I like them. They aren't the thickest plastic but they seem like they should hold up fine. Combined with my 97+ center console swap, I finally have plenty of cupholders for road trips! Lol!

I bought one of those cup holders to attach to the back of the center console for people in the back seat. Never did get around to installing it.

Before selling it, I drove my old ZX2 (manual everything. The only options it had were rear window defroster and AC) down to Louisiana for work. Had to check in and out at a guard shack every day. Because almost everyone else had power windows, the guards were in the habit of just going to the passenger side at the end of the day, but I always had to flag them to my drivers side.

My water pump decided to go out, and I took it to the dealer to be replaced. When I went to pick it up, they sent a lot attendant to get the car. After a few minutes, he came back stammering that he couldn't figure out how to start the car. I walked out there with him, put my foot on the clutch and cranked it right over.
