The steering held up great 👍. I went thru a lot of rocks, tree roots, etc. and the steering worked great. Nothing bent 👍. I didn’t abuse it but I didn’t baby it either. If I was hard up against a rock or tree, I stopped steering. The only down side I see to it is the steering is a tad bit slower than before. Otherwise it was amazing where I could steer!
I think you beefed that mount as much as possible.
It should hold up just fine, "IF" it did ever bend then it would likely fail at the drag link side not the axle mount side and you'd just redo it.
Good WORK!
On another note are you running a stock steering box or a West Texas Box?
35s?

It’s a West Texas rebuild box. One I sent in to have rebuilt and modified for the ram. They also modded the pump valve for more volume. And yes, running 35’s.

Im not concerned about the mounts holding up but like you said, the draglink I think is most prone to fail. I might carry a spare draglink and tierod assembly just in case.
One other interesting thing we found. There were3 of us that did this mod together. Mine is “stock” linkage, anotherwith Clayton and a 3rd with the IRO setup. We all did the same ram/box/pump combo but mine is the easiest to steer. Not that theirs are hard, just noticeably different than this setup. Maybe because mine is attached to the draglink and theirs to the tierod assembly, idk for sure. Just was surprised there was any difference at all.

Do all of you run a front locker?
If so what kinds.
A locked front end makes it harder to turn as the out side wheel can't turn faster than the inside wheel.

2 of us run the spartan locker up front, 3rd guy just upgraded to an air locker. It was more when we were steering while sitting still that it was felt.
So here’s an update. Up on Santiam Pass, first trail, this happen 🤪. I think I snagged it on a rock which stressed it, then when I tried to turn, the hydro ram finished it! Oh well, not bad for a $15 Rock Auto special 😂
Another update. Apparently this method works great for one full season! After bending the tierod at santiam pass, I bent the tie rod at the pitman arm in September! So I upgraded to a used CavFab setup.
