Made some progress today. Got the dremel out and went to town on the hinges, took the doors off the Jeep. I must say the have to weight around 90lbs each with everything, not as bad as I thought. Trimmed the inside of the passenger door and mounted one of the 6x9 speakers. Need to get mirrors, run the wiring and get them bondo and painted.
Thanks!
So the touch up paint is thin, real thin. In hindsight I should of used a primer instead of just prepping and going off the white. 11oz can is small and thin paint didn't cover up the bondo. At $35 a can with clear coat (I can't find it alone or cheaper) I went to Home Depot to find a cheaper alternative. Found one and i'll test it tomorrow. If the paint isn't close enough for me I'll buy another Color Rite can and top it off. Finish it up tomorrow. Bedline from the tape down when all is done
So used a can of that Burgundy from Rustoleum. It looked good wet but the more it dried the brighter it got. It's much more red than I wanted. Going to go over the doors with either touch up paint or a light brown with a light coat to darken it. Still deciding. But wired up the 6x9s and went for a ride regardless. Love the look from the inside and speakers are loud enough that you don't notice half the door missing. The white paint throws the whole color off too, need to bedline that

I think if you would've scuffed the white down to almost bare metal, then gone over it with a black primer, that burgundy would've been darker when it dried. Just my .02
Yea went over it with some darker paint. Paint is just about perfect now once I clean the jeep. Finished the half doors and now rolling down the road not looking trashy.
Took the Jeep on the longest drive since RC. About 70 miles and on the first beach i've ever driven on. Found myself a new place to hang out on the sand. I love driving around with the half doors
Bad camera on my phone but bought an actual polisher to wax my vehicles. I must say it works great, much easier than doing it by hand. Even got up on the roof and buffed and polished the whole roof out.
Thank you! I haven't driven with no doors yet but I love the look and feel of the half doors. Soon going to have the jeep at a Oldblue#2's place where all the real work is taken, updates coming soon.
