I am in the middle of a long arm swap with the IRO rock link setup and cant stop looking at my wimpy stock steering set up.

All of the kits I have found require around 4.25 to 4.5 inches of backspace. I am running stock 17" rubicon takeoffs with spider track spacers to take care of the bolt pattern. I think with the spacers I am around 5.25" of BS. Is there a kit that would work with my setup?

The only one I found that did not state a minimum BS requirement was Ruff Stuff. I contacted them but have not heard back yet.

I assume the steering would hit my rim on full lock? Is that the problem?

 

 

Looks like stock JK wheel's backspacing is 6.25". Spidertrax adapters are 1.25" so you're right at 5" overall. Wow that doesn't give much space. I would say the best option would be Currie Currectlync.

 

Generally the suggested backspacing is for a 15" wheel, given that you have 17" wheels you have a lot more room, where a 15" wheel needs extra offset to clear, the 17 will probably clear. I can't say for certain whether or not this is the case but it's definitely something to consider. For example to clear a WJ steering and brake set up you need at least 3.75" BS generally on a 15" wheel, but WJ's came from the factory with 16" wheels with very little offset.
