I will admit I have never fixed damage from a wreck before and don't know entirely what it will entail, but I think it's worth trying to save.
Even if you don't see any buckling or fractures to the frame. I think it will be a good idea to go ahead and beef up the frame up front with stiffeners when you rebuild. They are prone to break by the steering box, and the impact to the frame still may have weakened it.

I'm seriously considering an aftermarket bumper with tie ins and a hoop to prevent future damage. My Cherokee is tall enough that it wouldn't be damaged much by most cars, but the Comanche is much more vulnerable to smaller cars and wildlife. First I need to fully assess the damage, which hopefully will happen tomorrow or Monday.

I replaced the leaf springs yesterday. It wasn’t As bad as I thought it was going to be. I got lucky and none of the bolts were frozen. I did find out that I need to replace the passenger side emergency brake cable though. Oh well, it never ends I guess.

Pulled the front end off the Comanche today, bent the fenders back straight, header panel, turn signals, grill, bumper and radiator and she's good again. I'll need to bend the bumper tabs back straight and the bottom of the crossmember is a little bent it, but definitely fixable.

Finished up Tru-Trac install.
Do you dig with both wheels?

Nice shale pit close to house. Has a 60* or so wall that gets steeper the higher you go.

Thanks, definitely will take me a long time to get the part and fix it but at least I can fix it.

Lol...close... It got a little more "desert" on the roof than it could handle. Hoping I can at least get a windshield back into it until I tear off the roof and redo it or find another 97.
