haha.... it's funny that you say that, 'cause before I got my XJ, the only towing I ever did was WITH a manual. It's just whatever you're used to man. It definitely feels unnatural doing something different from the status quo.
What really would have helped out, would be a 1st gear granny gear. I had a 74 K5 Blazer a few years ago with a manual trans and it had the granny gear. Sure it had a 475hp 383ci engine up front but man did I like having such a short first gear. Never towed with it but I am sure it would have helped out. Keep in mind, I live on the side of a mountain so there are hills everywhere. Hills are a manual trans enemy!
They're the grommets for the studs on the bottom of the radiator.
After inspecting them a little closer the original ones were dry-rotted and compressed so, they're outta here.
The cheapest I could find them was from a dealer in Missouri on ebay @ ~$16 each. Glad they don't get replaced often.
I don't even remember them when I put in a new radiator about 3 years ago. Wonder what mine looked like. All that might be coming apart next year. Do you have a link for those?
I managed to get one of the Line-X'ed mud flaps on today after work. Not perfectly straight but it will have to do.

I don't have the receipt in front of me but, I'm pretty sure this is where I got them from. It's actually Gladstone (a Dodge dealer):
My bumper finally arrived from Dirtbound over 2 months later. Very stout but i don't think ill ever order from them due to their lack of customer service. Product quality is amazing though.
Well I was going to replace my steering box tonight but of course I didnt have the right size socket for the pitman arm nut. One too big or one too small. Went down to AZ to buy a socket, didnt have the right size in metric, so got one that was close in standard size. Well come to find out, it has a 3/4" shank, not 1/2". Dont have a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter... so big fail for that tonight. Instead, I pulled off one of the lower arms to do new bushings. This one is done.
I've been reading about the heater core job all summer as I've procrastinated getting started. Particularly about the dreaded HVAC box bolt behind the cylinder head. I pulled the Jeep in the garage last night with the sole intention of removing that bolt as sort of a project kick off. Figured I'd get that battle out of the way to get the ball rolling.
It was a total non-event. Took maybe a minute or two. I just put a regular 11mm box end wrench on it to break it free and was able to spin it off by hand. The additional fastener that I've read about wasn't there, leading me to believe that this isn't the first heater core replacement (I've only owned it for a little more than a year). We'll see. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend to get going.

Received my new set of upgraded headlamp harnesses from CF member and vendor jhc7399:
Received them within 2 days of placing my order. Of course, it helps that we only live ~60 miles apart...anyway, thanks Jeff!
On that note, I'd like to give a shout-out to the few vendors I've dealt with on CF. They have all been a pleasure to do business with, their prices are reasonable, they've all been prompt and courteous, and, the products they sell have all met or exceeded my expectations. What more can you ask for? Thank you all!
