This came in today, forgot I ordered it though. I'll remove the resistors and put it in when I get some free time.

I did a basic tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc... I have no idea how it ran at all! Plugs were eroded out to .080" + gap and the distributor was full of iron dust and corrosion.

Also pulled the drive lines to inspect for bad u-joints (driveline vibration and growl). Sure enough, one cap on the rear joint was toast! Dry, broken and zero needles left. Gonna change all the joints as well as the centering ball just for peace of mind.

Ha! U-joints aren't too bad. Not my idea of fun, but not the worst thing to do.

I don't blame you... Things start to get expensive after a while.

Or, get a $20 infra-red temperature gun and shoot the pan for readings.
Would be nice to have an electronic gauge for use while driving. lols I'd have to cut and splice it into the hardline though wouldn't I? Is that much of a task or fairly straightforward? The reading from the pan wouldn't be as accurate correct? Might splice in my tranny cooler this weekend if there's time, but Black Magic rear disc swap is priority 1.

Edit: Took a second to look them up, not too bad: http://jeepin.com/features/tranny_temp_gauge. I think I'll do one eventually and put it in front of the TC shifter. Thought it'd be a more obnoxious process.

I have mechanical gauges for my trans and they work very well for me. As long as you don't pinch the capillary tube you should be fine.

I did get a Detours Tailbone setup installed this weekend. Want to pickup new hardware for it and gotta tinker with the tire mount but otherwise Loving the fact the spare will be out of the cargo area soon.

How did you get your hands on one of those?!?! Sales have been suspended every time I've checked for probably about a year!
