Wow that looks perfect. Absolutely love that so far.

Installed my boostwerks 231 linkage. Shifts like butter now. Also mounted my full size spare. And moved the location of my CB.

Been wondering if I should install that linkage. Really want to put a Select A Trac in my Jeep though.

$10 off Craigslist one town over. Figured why not.

Helping Braytonia install his new lift. Getting these two bushings out is a success to any XJ owner. You guys know the feeling.

I have a similar relationship with my father in laws F150. Originally it was mine, I found it on a car lot in 2010, caught my eye. I had to stop.

It's was 99 with 18,000 miles on it. Later, I ended up selling it my father in law but I still love it dearly. I just dropped a newer starter solenoid in it the other week after I borrowed it to get some tanbark. It was dead in my driveway when I went to take it back.

Luckily, I have Ford dealership right down the road with a nice parts dept. I'm using the left over POR15 on the F150 door bottoms. They are a bit rusted. My father in law has told me the truck is in his will for me. That truck means something special because I love my father in law so much. Some people who aren't gear heads just don't get it.
Know the feeling well. I miss my father in law. Cancer took him about 6 months after he was diagnosed. Left a big wide open hole. He gave me a cedar ammo box for Christmas one year. That box is in the Jeep with essential spare parts. When I no longer have room for it, it will be displayed in the garage.

Might seem like just a wooden box to some, but I think of him every time I see it. He was a great man.

That's a pretty nifty little conversion. Never woulda thought of using the upper rad hose for the radiator cap and overflow tube.

Know even less about woodworking then I do auto mechanics but I am thinking that is not just any wooden box. With the dovetail, is that the term, way it is put together it looks like some real craftsmanship to me. Then you throw in the sentimental value. Can't put a price on that.

Close! It's a finger joint. It's a store-bought box (from wal-mart, I believe), but it's still of a decent quality and pretty heavy-duty. He definitely wasn't a wealthy man, but he put thought into anything he'd ever buy for you. As you said though... can't put a price on something sentimental, that's for sure.

Walmart huh. I am older and way back when you could pick quality stuff at the "discount stores". In my area we used to have stores like Bradley's and Caldor's. Needed to tune up your car? You went there for the parts. Used the book hanging from the shelf. Got your part numbers, brand name parts by the way, grabbed them, and went on your merry way. Now I am guessing replaced by Targets and Walmarts.

Yup... here's what it looks like from the front.

I miss the catalogue order days. I used to snag the BIIIIIG Sears and JC Penny catalogues when they would come in and start dog-earing pages and circling things for "christmas wish-lists" lol

Did you have Service Merchandise stores in your area? You would go there, pick something out of the catalog, and it would come out on the roller rack.

So I pulled my tires, inner fenders, and front bumper off. In hindsight it probably would have been best to take the bumper off the brackets and then remove the brackets. Those torx won't budge though. Worry about that later. A piece of foam fell out of the driver's side. Has what looks like glue residue on one side of it. There is a piece still in there that is at the back of the fender in front of the door hinges. Looks like it has an inset where the piece that fell out would fit in. Sorry of the lousy pictures but does anybody know the placement of this stuff for when I put it back together? So the Jeep will be off the road for awhile. Good thing I have plenty of food in the house, live a 1/2 mile from work, and don't have a life. Plan is a power wash, prep and POR 15, put on the front tow hooks, hang the front skid, etc.
