Nice progress! Custom fabbing motor mounts and such I assume?
Thank you. I was hoping to have the new engine in and running but I seem to be a magnet for problems. Still fighting to either get a refund or an engine harness that's in good shape from a guy on Ebay. Not going well...
I got Brown Dog motor mounts to replace the factory ones. I did a somewhat eyeball sanity check how things look, but everything I could find online said they'd be the same between the 2.8L and 3.4L. Guess I'll know 100% for sure when I finally get to put the engine back in hopefully in the near future.
Been a long time since I've posted on here so I wanted to drop a quick update. Been busy with other stuff and the project is mostly on the back burner til I get a few things wrapped up. On the good side some of the busy things in my normal life is a promotion at work to a good (but busy for now) role. On the not so good side is some pretty big changes in my lifestyle due to more Lymes treatment. My thought is I'm going to focus on getting a few other things out of the way now so that when my spring class is done and snowmobiling season over I can get Jezebel up and running. Although I might sneak in a little time here and there to put a few things together to tidy things up in my garage.
Just to keep my build thread alive I figured I'd do a little typing. As I mentioned before, not a lot of progress is planned until I wrap up some other things. I've got my spring semester and summer registered for and after that will be done with my EE masters. That means I get to have fun again and unless I get my arm twisted for an MBA I should be done with school. Also the big compliance push for my job has a deadline of April 1 2016 so after that I get to start using some of my ~180 hours accrued vacation.
Last summer I did manage to plop the 3.4L into place. Here's a pic to prove it actually happened. It's possible I'll get some time between now and July but probably nothing too noteworthy. Hopefully then I'll be able to get this going.

I have an 86 with the 2.8 as well and want to do the same. Would you be willing to do an actual write up for dummies.

I've been planning to do some kind of a summary/write-up once the new engine is successfully running.
So far things have followed along with the details on the site below fairly well. That guy did a good job. The biggest change now will be that I'm not going the carb route.
Well, I'm still alive and kicking. Things haven't slowed down as much as I hoped and this has still been one of the easier things to put on the back burner. I'm trying to limit my summer projects this year and this should be one I focus on. The buddy I sold my CJ to is itching to get out, so that'll likely mean I'll have an extra set of hands for help. Hopefully I'll be posting some progress in the near future.
Just read the intire thread in one sitdown I want more to this interesting build. You're doing great man looking forward to see how the engine swap is working for you.
