Noticed that since I got Castrol High Mileage 5W-30 engine is much less noisy. The oil pressure seems higher too. While running it's close to 50PSI and at idle just below 40PSI. Could also be the 180* thermostat that I recently put in too. But I didn't notice before the change this last week.

^ Sounds like typical new oil and filter behaviour

Why did you put in a 180 degree thermostat, especially in February?

Only had ~2200 miles on the old stuff, just regular Mobile 1(6 months and I wanted another sample to see if there's coolant).

Because I'm an idiot and didn't think to tell AZ the temp.

Nothing much. Just replace the driver side seat switch. Tomorrow will be battery cable and seat covers.

Buttstripe (Aka Brendan) came over today and changed his front DS u-joints. Realized while he had his tool bag out that he had an adjustable wrench that was juuuuust big enough to remove the nut off the pitman arm on the spare steering gear box I have. I've been tellin' 88WhiteComanche that I would remove it and send it to him for a couple months.... glad I finally get to make good on that promise.

lol... I keep forgetting about those dadgum Christmas lights

Default I Fahq'd it up proper.

My rear springs are flattening out so i decided to replace the OE shackles with +1.75 teraflex i had lying around. I knew the springs were gonna need replacing (maybe in the spring?) so I've been soaking them in PB for a couple weeks. I snapped off the rear upper bolt that goes into the captive nut in the unibody along with the front bolt on the opposite side. Its a total PITA to get to that broken 1 inside the mount so i started my rear quarter panel cut and fold early so i can access the damn thing! Got all my cuts with seams to fold over the edges nicely but i couldnt find my RTV! FML but not really. I can finish it up in the morning. Then start on the wheel well trimming so the rear 1/4 panel job doesnt look out of place....then I'll need new bumpers too...this never ends does it?

Speaking of that. Its like you go to fix one problem just to find another. Lots of work ahead for me. Leaving at this...

Was just making a post about this in my build thread...Newish PS pump reservoir started leaking like a sieve. So even the problems you think you've solved can still come back to bite you in the ***.

Started installing my front tube flares on the XJ. Have my baby monitor on the hood so I can listen for little Bennett's whimpers. Wife and her friends are seeing a late showing of fifty shades. Need to make some cuts with my grinder, need to cut away raised area where factory fender bracket mounted. That lip is not allowing me to position the new fender correctly, as of now I can't lay out my final trim and mark my bolt holes. Don't want to wake up my son, will continue tomorrow but probably not finish. Parents are back from the Caribbean, I'm sure they will come to visit the baby for a few hours tomorrow. Then in the evening it's off to the in-laws for Sunday dinner. What's in store for me when the wife gets home from fifty shades????

Noticed it was starting to lean to the right just a hair. Did some poking around and found the 2nd leaf in my pack has about a 4" section completely missing right around the front retainer clamp.

Close to 50,000 problem free miles out of this Rusty's leaf pack. Think I'm gonna buy another Rusty's leaf pack, some boomerang shackles and the HD relocation kit. Hoping to not get gain any lift.
