Looking at pulling the trigger on a Dirbound offroad DIY bumper. Cant decide if I like the pre runner hoop or the brush guard style.
Im leaning towards the pre runner style hoop. Thoughts??
Aesthetically, I have to agree with the other guys on the pre-runner style. But as far as practicality the grill guard provides way more protection. It keeps trees, tall weeds, briars, etc from smacking your header panel and head lights. My grill guard has saved my header panel on several occasions.

30 minutes, a large punch, 5lb sledge and a destroyed UCA bushing later.... I'm back to where I started with an empty hole on top of my front diff.. not sure what I was thinking, figured the 3-link used a factory style bushing. Oh well, 10$ lesson learned.
IF for some reason the cav fab 3-link uses a factory style UCA bushing at least I have a spare.

Speaking of which, good choice with dirtbound. I'll probably go with JCR for the front because they are here in MI, but if/when I go with a rear bumper, I think I'm gonna go with DB's Mojave Tire Carrier. A bit pricey, but I fell in love with that thing. Now I'm just debating if I want to cut-n-fold, or leave it alone.

Id definitely cut/fold. Those rear quarters are susceptible to rust, especially when they salt the roads up by you. The DB cut n fold rear bumper looks great, gives your quarters some protection while still maintaining more ground clearance.
Wasn't able to get gears done this weekend. Came down with a stupid cold/flu Saturday mid-day, slept most of the weekend.
Today I managed to hit my diff cover with a red scotchbrite pad and the first coat of clear. Going to hit it with finer scotchbrite tomorrow and spray a second coat, probably 3 total just to help prevent rust.
Another small project, but had the itch to do some work on the jeep despite still being sick. Had some factory jeep 4x4 decals, decided to peel the old faded grey ones off and put on these shiny new black ones.
Small detail, but little details like this make a difference IMO.

HD Offroad shackle relocation brackets came in today. Seem to be very nice quality, after I get them fitted up I will weld them out. HDO says welding is optional, but I'm going to for extra strength. Going to get started on the rear this weekend.
