Bought oil and a filter for an oil change. Also got a new 195* thermostat because my XJ hasn't been getting warmer than 160* the past week. Im also installing my front locker this weekend so I picked up some 75w140 gear oil.

Can anyone confirm 75w140 is the correct gear oil for a dana 30 with lunchbox locker?

Yeah I run 80w140 in mine but 75w140 is factory heavy-duty/towing recommended weight

Installed a dashcam. Had plans for a whole lot more but interruptions prevented all that.

When cold weather arrived I found that my heater was only putting out lukewarm air despite the engine temperature being normal. Mixer flap appeared to be working OK. General advice here for that symptom is to flush out the heater core.

Today we got a break, nearly 60 degrees, so I took advantage of the warm weather to flush the core out in both directions. Some crap definitely came out and it puts out heat practically like a furnace now.

Of course the real test will be when cold weather returns. (Temperature is supposed to drop back into the 20s tonight. )

Also removed the roof rack crossbars to make snow removal easier. The torx screws came out easily enough. (I only took off the front end caps.) I cleaned up the torx screws and put antiseize on for future use. I've never used the crossbars and may never put them back on, but will keep them in the garage just in case.
