changed engine oil, drain and fill trans fluid, replaced headlights, swapped out a broken piece of interior trim, checked all fluids and greased everything that has a fitting and rotated my tires.
speaking of which i am very happy with these goodyears. well over 40k miles on them and they still look great. 235/75 goodyear armortrac.
Right? Just goes to show, having good friends and treating them right goes a long way. Hope I get the opportunity to pay them back someday. I offered them some money for the parts, but they wouldn't take it.

Well, been SLIGHTLY busy lately between work and stuff around the house. Did manage to squeeze in a little progress on her and do a little wheelin'.
Ditched the old halogen bulbs in the domes and converted them over to LED panels. I say "converted" because I actually had to solder the pigtail that the panels plug into to the connections in the dome housing. Couldn't believe how bright it is now. I could barely see anything in there at night - you could practically do surgery in there now.

Friday, a friend of mine wanted to do a little exploring. He works for Florida DOT and, while he was doing his rounds one day he spotted the gate opened on an old abandoned lime rock quarry that had been sold off a couple of years ago. Ended up finding a Kia SUV that someone had rolled into the main "pit" and stripped the tag and ignition off of. But I also got a taste of wheeling on/around rocks. The portion of the trail we found and went down had some decent crevices, drop offs, boulders, grades, and off-camber. It wasn't more than a couple hundred feet that went into an open area, but it was really technical getting down it... took about 15 minutes with my friend as a spotter. His son caught a pic of me on the way out
Definitely a lot of fun... definitely wanna get on more rocks... definitely need armor lol
Case in point - my gas tank:
kinda hard to tell from the pics - but my capacity went from 20 gallons to 18... definitely want to skid that so it doesn't get any worse.
Today I replaced both O2 sensors, as the old ones were likely OEM and a real pain to get off, I must say. Also replaced the injectors back to stock as the ones that I got from Ebay were not 24 lb/hour injectors like I needed...so tomorrow I get to send them back to California to await these instead: http://www.ebay.com/itm/UPGRADE-87-9...tXJRWT&vxp=mtr

I know your pain. I only have the single dome light up front in my XJ and I can't see crap in there. I picked up two flexible 12" LED strips to attach to the trim over the cargo area. I'm just going to wire them into the dome light.

Ah yes I got bit by the rock crawling bug living in PA. It can get much more technical than people think which is why you see rigs built the way they are. Good scenario's can turn bad real fast. You can never have enough protection. I've only had a rock lick my gas tank with no damage but I have destroyed a rocker because of a bad spotter........

Yeah, my plan is to eventually do something like this in the foot wells, under the back of the front seats (maybe), and in the cargo area and hatch with an independent switch. I never realized what a tremendous difference that would be until I did it. Really really glad I did though. It's nice to be able to open the door at night and actually SEE everything in the jeep lol.

Yikes... yeah armor is definitely coming. I have a few more things in the engine compartment to take care of to get it back up to factory performance standards, but I'll definitely be buying a better welder in the near future and putting in plating where I can... as well as junkyard parts.

Perfect opportunity for a 2x6 rocker replacement. I did it on my jeep, went smooth, came out great and only spent around 100 bucks for all the steel to do it.
You already have stiffeners, would be easy to tie them in to your uni-frame.

I'm still debating on whether or not to do this. If I did, it would be with 2x8 so I could tie in an exo later on. The only thing that I'm conflicted on is that the tie-ins seem like they'd get hung on an obstacle rather than "slide" as intended.
Love your jeep though man.

I'm definitely going to do the rocker replacement but like Fishlicks mentioned, I too will be looking at going 2x8 probably 3/16" too. The tie-ins are going to get hammered. You would benefit from mini boatsides at that point.
