Hmmm. Paid $25 for a friend at my Church to machine the Tubng. The rest was just flat bar and some Autozone control arm bushings. in total I probably ended up paying about $65 in parts alone not including labor. Lol. So if I sold em, I'd have to find a way to buy the parts cheaper. Because at the price I would sell em for, you might as well buy brown dogs. I couldn't find anyone in town who sold 2 1/4" ID tubing so I finally had to settle with machining a big piece of round stock. This is the third time people on the forum have wanted me to make and sell them something I made. Haha
But anyways, they are installed and now and I'm on the search for a solution to some vibrations since the new mounts are stiffer.
How did you cut the bolt head off when it's inside the unibody...
Hah, sorry, I can see how that looks weird. I meant I did that to the LCAs. You're right, the UCA side is a ****ing flag nut inside the frame. I remember I bought bushings for them and just said "no way that's coming out, **** it" and tossed them back on the shelf. Air hammer isn't a bad idea, bust the one side loose and just push it through.
I recently managed to source a set of the correct 5 spoke Wagoneer style rims, had these repainted and went for Goodyear Duratrac as a good all-season tyre.
Hoping to have the Wagoneer painted later in the year, in the same Dover grey.
The rear is a bit saggy, so will have the leafs redone locally
Earlier this week took the old battery to be tested: 960CA down to a whopping 30CA! Amazingly it had three months of free replacement left on it, so Tractor Jeep has a new battery.
Started the day by removing a 19mm socket that was stuck on a passenger front lug nut for literally three years. Never had that wheel off since I bought the XJ lol
"Freshened" up the driver's front brake. New line and hose, cleaned up caliper (made sure piston still moves and blew the water out) sanded and rotor. Didn't bother with the passenger side as I got lazy after that. Bled both fronts. Seem to no longer have a leak, which is a good thing.
Replaced leaky O ring on #4 fuel injector. Fuel pump now pressurizes rail without washing the manifolds. Should be able to run the engine now without starting a fire, which is also a good thing.
Replaced electric fan with one I was told came from a '98 but is stamped "DEC 00". Was a ***** to wiggle in and get the tabs lined up. Spliced the 2001's connector onto the older fan.
Finished up the day by removing the front anti-sway bar. Tomorrow I suppose I should probably take a peek at the drum brakes. But I might just see if it will move under its own power instead lol
I prefer the black tape. I got hot and tired so I finished it up today lol. Also tucked all the wires out of sight. Then cleans and painted overhead console.
